at dry heat you've heard of is out the window when a monsoon comes through. With a high UV index in Las Vegas, you can burn quickly. With the monsoons, you have to be prepared to sweat. These factors have different effects on different skin types and can cause excess oiliness or dryness.

Choosing the Right Makeup Products

Its important to use long-lasting and sweat-resistant formulas. Here are a few of my favorite products you can purchase at your favorite beauty stores. For foundations, Lancome Teint Idole or Estee Lauder Double Wear. My favorite mascaras are Tarte Lights, Camera, Splashes and Lancome Monsieur Big. Lastly, My favorite eyeliners are Urban Decay Glide-on Eyeliner. A setting powder will help reduce shine and increase longevity. If shine isn't a concern for you, you can opt for a setting spray only to lock in your look.

Application Techniques for Longevity

Heres a few tips on how to help your makeup last longer:

  • Allow your foundation to "set" or dry down before applying any powders

  • When you apply a loose setting powder, use a velour puff to press and roll it on top of the foundation to increase wear oppose to applying with a powder puff.

  • Put on a oil controlling eye shadow primer before applying eyeshadow or use waterproof cream shadows.

  • for long lasting lip color you can use a lip primer and lip liner when using a traditional lipstick or opt for a long wearing liquid lipstick or lip stain.

Makeup Touch-Ups on the Go

I always recommend to book your artist through to the reception, just like the celebrities do for the red carpet. Not in your budget? NO problem. Here are a few products that will help maintain your makeup: A travel mirror, blotting papers, lipstick, tissues and qtips. A little shiny? use your blotting sheets and press it into areas that your shiny. Watery eyes? Press the tissue over the makeup, never rub.

It will help minimize if not eliminate sweat for your wedding day. It is a pro product so it will need to be ordered ahead of time. It's also important to stay hydrated. drink plenty of water, apply body lotion and lip balm leading up to the wedding and the day of.
